On Wednesday I was “let go” from my job. Now there are many theories on why this has happened. Their reason was that “not enough students have signed up for the class so they are closing it”. My theory is that one of my students was also the bosses daughter and seriously messed up in the head, and the day before I complained again (must of been the 20th time) about her. I didn’t do the normal “she is acting up in class and was violent” routine, this time I flat out told her mother that the 3 years I have been living and working in Taiwan that her daughter is the most horrible, mentally messed up kid I have ever taught. I don’t think she was happy to hear this. She should of expected it though, as from what I have heard she had to make weekly trips to her school to apologize to the teachers for her behavior.

Don’t feel sorry for me or anything. I had it with that school and the idiot boss there. I was on the verge of quitting, I’m talking about inches, no millimeters away from either demanding a HUGE raise or quitting. I wasn’t gonna lose much, as I only worked there 6 hours a week. In all my life I have never wanted to quit a job so much as I wanted to quit from that one. I feel so relieved that I don’t have to go back and put of with it. It wasn’t even close to my house, I had to travel a bit to get there. I think my next gig is either going back to the adorable, obedient, and behaved kindergarteners or working with adults. I hate teenagers.

You don’t have to worry about my “Taiwanese Children Stories” segment to stop, as I still have some in reserve. I think I’ll take a week or so vacation before I jump back on the work horse. If any one out there has some info about a job drop me a line.

If I had to pick between being saying I was fired or that I was now free. I think I’ll have to quote William Wallace and say “FREEEEDOM!!!

School’s out forever! My morning job that I was working at decided to “let me go”; basically I got my ass fired! It’s no sweat off my brow. Sure I’ll miss the money and the kids, but I do have an afternoon job that can support me. Now I just have to give up smoking crack.

It’s also ok since I have plans I want to get started with(more on that in a later post) ,and with my mornings open I am freely able to do such things. I will miss my children, but my friend “WMD” Magda will take over the class, so I know they are in sort of good hands. I won’t brag about how awesome my kids were, but I will show you a picture taken not too long ago of a student named Jimmy randomly writing letters on the blackboard.

Respect the evil within you.

About a month ago, I got another job. Only an extra 9 hours a week. I had too much free time and I could be banking with those wasted hours. Don’t get me wrong, they weren’t completely wasted. I spend some quality time downloading hot Asian porn, but porn doesn’t pay for hard drives.

I have an addiction to technology I guess. I just want more and more toys to play with. Like for example at the end of this month Taiwan is getting the Nintendo DS Lite. Do I need a DS Lite? Not really, but where is the fun in that? I like having top of the line things, I like having the knowledge on how to program CSS and PHP. Yeah I can’t cook dinner, or patch a hole in my jeans, but I can make a sweet lookin website and download season 2 of Lost. Is that knowledge a complete waste? Sooner or later i’m sure that I can get paid for my work, but for now I do it for fun and to see how much cool shit I can do.

I do want to do other things. Traveling is on the top of my list. I’m in central Asia, only a hop, skip and a jump from China, Japan, or Korea. I will go there, I will experience different cultures, but I’ll be rockin my DS Lite the whole time.

Yesterday at work we took a trip to some jr. high school to practice for the kids graduation on Saturday. Was nice that I got out of teaching for a day, plus got paid for it! Was a boring 3+ hours.

I got my first paycheck a couple days ago from my school, and boy did that sure feel good! Sure it’s not the millions of dollars I want like my lotto dream, but it will do. I took a picture of my money, so you can see what I would say when I do win the lotto. Enjoy.

As promised, I took my camera to school today and took some shots of the class. I only took 11 shots, mainly cuz it was the end of the day and I wanted to go home. I created a simple little web album of the shots, since I didn’t want to waste too much space here with all the pics. I’m sure I’ll be adding more shots as time goes on, and i’ll let you know when more are added.

Ahh what a week, what a week! I am so sick, last friday I went out drinking and now I have an iCold. Been taking medicine, but I’m not sure if my iCold is getting any iBetter, guess I have iYellow fever. Besides that this week I have started my new job at the iKindergarten, which means waking up at 6:45am to get there by 8am. It isn’t a tough job, it’s actually quite fun and relaxing. This week has been incredibly easy, as only Monday have I got to actually teach. Tue-Thur has been a breeze. Tuesday, the whole iKindergarten class had a fun “game day” which took 3 hours, and the teachers played along. Wednesday it was picture day part 1, and that took up most of the day. Thursday was picture day part 2 which once again took most of the day. Good thing every week isn’t like this, or my kids would learn nothing. I’ll get some pictures up of them soon. My co-teacher took some pics on her digital camera, and hopefully she will send them to me soon.

So i’m sure your wondering about the title. Well it’s kinda about the main topic today. 2 days ago I bought myself a iPod mini, the 6 gig one. It’s such a sweet little toy, I have uploaded over 800 files onto it and it’s still not even 50% full yet. I added all the cd’s I brought here, the ones I downloaded, my chinese language tapes(which total over 24 hours of play time) and a couple of audiobooks. Apple has made a great product for sure, but whats with naming everything i-something? From iPod to iTunes to iMac! I have tried to do that in my post, but I think it’s starting to come off as iStupid. Anyways i’m happy with my little toy, was well worth the money, as it’s gonna help me my boredom problems, and I can learn and junk too! Here is a pic of my iPod, its hard to tell, but it’s pretty tiny.
Ipod Mini
I’m sure with my job and monthly income(did I forget to mention in Asia everyone gets paid monthly?) I’ll have more stories and adventures for you…so expect updates more often.
